Epiphany — The CMIT Mathematics Tournament.



Epiphany, the CMIT Mathematics Tournament is an annual pre-PhD level mathematics competition organised by the Club of Mathematics, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, in association with Anvesha.

This is a student-run contest aimed at fostering interest in mathematics and providing an exciting platform to students to assess their skills. Epiphany is conducted as a part of π-Day celebrations each year.


Epiphany 2.0: The Treasure Hunt

As part of our π week celebrations, CMIT in collaboration with Science and Technology Council, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, is organising 'Epiphany' after a long hiatus. This time, Epiphany has revamped itself into a math-themed treasure hunt on Discord! You may participate in teams with a maximum of three members. The 1st place winners will be awarded a prize money of ₹3,141, and the 2nd place winners, ₹1,571. Further details of the hunt will be shared on Discord.

Epiphany 1.0: The Math Tournament

The first edition of Epiphany was conducted as an intra-IISER Mathematics Contest, open only to the students of IISER Thiruvananthapuram. The competition was be a three-hour long individual written exam based on undergraduate and pre-PhD level mathematics with two separate categories for : (I) Mathematics majors and (II) Foundation course students & other majors. Winners from each category won exciting cash prizes, sponsored by Anvesha, the institute science club.

Winners

The winners of Epiphany v1.0 are Aditya Narayan Sharma (Winner, Category II), Airin Antony (Runner-up, Category II), Karthikesh B & Ganesh Dharmadhikari (Joint Winner, Category I). Winners receive cash prizes worth ₹3000, sponsored by Anvesha.
